KVS Foundation Day celebrated with Inter School Quiz and Debate Competitions

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan foundation day was celebrated on 15 December 2014 with pomp and show at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom. The chief guest of the function for first shift was Shri.T.N.N. Namboodiri, former principal Kendriya Vidyalaya Pangode. Former Principals Shri. Kuriakose Varkey, Smt. Rajamma Kurien , Smt. Alice Thomas and Shri. Radhakrishnan were honoured during the foundation day celebrations organized by the second shift. Extending welcome to the guests as a part of the golden jubilee celebrations of Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom, Principal Shri. S. Ajaya Kumar reminded the gathering about the valuable services that the Vidyalaya has been rendering to generations of learners for the past 50 years. The motion was supported by the chief guests when they praised the school for its excellence in school education. The dignitaries and the gathering were taken to the height of rejoice and entertainment when the robust students of Shift I and II of the Vidyalaya put forth their talents through various cultural programmes. The unity of KVS echoed in the air when everyone in union sang the KV Song.

As a part of the Golden jubilee celebrations of KV Pattom an Inter school debate and quiz competition was also organized. Around 15 schools participated in the golden jubilee debate and quiz competitions. The Quiz was titled “Know India” and the topic for Debate was “Is Social Media an effective tool for bringing about Social Change”. Students of St. Mary’s school, Pattom won the first prize in quiz competition and the second prize was won by the students of KV Pattom (Shift I). In the golden jubilee debate competition Malavika Menon of Kendriya Vidyalaya AFS Akkulam got the first position and the second postion was won by Ajay U of Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in ‘for the motion’. Sara Reji of St. Thomas Central School and Nanda S Pillai of Arya Central School got the first and second position in ‘against the motion’.
