They are tiny labourers
Working for themselves.
Living as their neighbours,
We don’t do much for ourselves.
Hungrily I ate, dropping a piece of wafer
Greedily they came; united they took.
This forced me to give them a look.
Poor ants! Struggling to take it!
“I will help you dear ones”, I said
I took the piece from them,
Depressed they went empty handed…
Seeing this with wonder,
I uttered, “Fools! I don’t need any wage!”
